Workplace politics: What it means?




Office politics is a way to get fast promotion and more salary. People who play politics are unkind and have very good social network. Office politics adds zing to the working environment but too much politics is bad. No organization is free from office politics but organization values and policies can curb it to minimum level.

It has been observed in many cases average people who play politics are working top levels while intelligent who do not get involved in politics are at lower levels.

Promotions are not always given to highly deserving candidates. Managers often promote their favorites and provide them with necessary training and information. Managers will find faults, criticize and ridicule those who are not in their good books.

If you cannot fight with those who play politics, keep posting your resumes. Try to get offer letters. This will keep you financially safe and act as a backup when you are suffering at your workplace because of politics.

Competition is tough. There are many contenders for the same position. To rise above others people manipulate and backstab. Try to keep good relations with juniors, seniors and peers.
